Essential eCommerce email sequences (part 2 of 10): Site abandonment sequence

Site abandonment is the first of four different types of "abandonment" sequences.
After reading this post, you'll know what a site abandonment sequence is, what you need to build it, the one email in this sequence, and the triggers + filters to set.
(In Klaviyo, sequences are called "flows." I use these two terms interchangeably.)
Why a site abandonment sequence?
This sequence is for visitors who sign-up then leave without doing or clicking on anything else. They're either busy, got distracted, etc. The goal is to get them back on your site.
What you'll need
Web Tracking Setup
Make sure you have Web Tracking set—specifically "Active on Site" tracking.

You'll need access to both Klaviyo and Shopify (or your eCommerce platform).
Email Template
You already have your welcome emails, so use the same template for this email so it's cohesive.

Depending on the image clicked, you direct the prospect to a specific product. This way they self-segment and you urge them to view a relevant product.
Triggers and Filters
Trigger: Send after 1-2 hours after signing up - "Active on site"
Filter: Did not view a product, add to cart, start checkout, or place an order since starting the flow + Never been in flow before.
Notes:
Try to keep it cool and casual. No "We noticed you..." messaging. Please. For the love of all that's eCom, don't do it.
